Welcoming the Bride we sing, Greeting her as she enters into our circle. She comes as the bells of Holy Sabbath ring,
And spreads its happiness among all present. We praise her coming with trumpets and lyre, A sacred blessing in the midst of strife.
Rest ye weary this Saturday dear,
And gather around the twin-lit candles.
Observing the time our God rested,
Though on diff’ring days than of other faithful mode.
Morning struck and songbirds nested,
And human life takes one great pause. Shabbat shalom.
